Mr. Shohat is an associate attorney in ABD’s Miami Office, where he focuses his practice on first-party property disputes. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Shohat represented national insurance carriers in disputes involving first party homeowner’s insurance claims and gained extensive experience in assisting carriers in various matters, including third-party liability issues as well as pre and post-suit fraud investigations.
Mr. Shohat was also an Assistant State Attorney for Miami-Dade County. As an Assistant State Attorney, Mr. Shohat prosecuted numerous criminal cases, including serious felonies punishable by life imprisonment. As a prosecutor, Mr. Shohat gained extensive trial experience, as well as experience in Voir dire, motion practice, and deposition practice.
Mr. Shohat began his undergraduate studies at Case Western Reserve University, where he was a member of the football team. Mr. Shohat ultimately earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Miami and went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami as well. During law school, Mr. Shohat had the privilege to intern in the chambers of the Honorable Robert Scola of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Community and Professional Activities:
Mr. Shohat is a member of the Florida Bar Association and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
